Dr. Farouk El-Baz is Director of the Center for Remote Sensing and Research Professor at the Departments of Archaeology and Electrical & Computer Engineering, and Associated Faculty at the Department of Earth and Environment, Boston University, Boston, MA, U.S.A. He also serves as faculty advisor to two Boston University student organizations: the “1001 Wells for Darfur,” and the “Egyptian Club.”
As a part of the Science Festivity organized by the Planetarium Science Center (PSC) at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) during this month (April 2013), Dr. Farouk, who is a member of the Board of Trustees of the BA, has given a very motivational lecture about the role of youth in determining the future of Egypt. His lectures are always awaited by a huge audience of university students and general public. He possesses a simple way of lecturing that is both inspiring and informative to all the attendees, whatever their ages and levels of education are.
